Under the bonnet sits the renowned Mercedes-Benz’s M103 3.0-litre (2962cc) inline-six engine. Featuring Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injection, it produces 188 bhp and is paired with a smooth 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The M103 has earned an outstanding reputation among Mercedes enthusiasts for its exceptional reliability and mechanical refinement. Often regarded as one of the finest engines Mercedes-Benz ever produced, it provides effortless cruising performance while remaining robust enough to cover huge mileages with proper maintenance.

The R107 enjoyed one of the longest production runs of any Mercedes-Benz model, remaining in production for an incredible 18 years between 1971 and 1989.
